This edition of Digital Distinction is dedicated to the memory of our dear colleague, friend, and the welcoming face at most Alumni socials for the last 30 years, Gail Jones.

For more than 32 years, Gail was the heart of Cape Breton University’s Marketing and Communications team. But her reach extended far beyond her own office. Every department at CBU benefited from her experience, wisdom, and willingness to lend a hand. Gail was the quiet but steady presence behind so many of the projects that have defined CBU, including Distinction Magazine and Digital Distinction.

We will miss her deeply, her steady presence, her institutional memory, her generosity of spirit. Yet we know her legacy will live on in the people she mentored, the projects she shaped, and the values she embodied.

Gail Jones was more than a colleague; she was a cornerstone of Cape Breton University. May this edition stand in her honour, as a small reflection of a life that gave so much to so many.
